STARS
Special Needs Tracking and Awareness Response

Hermann Area Ambulance District has partnered with Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital to bring their STARS Program to the residents of Hermann Area Ambulance District's service area.

This program will enable us to be better prepared to care for special needs children within our district should an emergency arise. Each child enrolled in our program will receive a number in our database that coincides with pertinent health information that our Paramedics and EMTs can access when responding to the child's home in the event of an emergency. Children who especially benefit from this program are children with significant developmental delays, seizure disorders, cardiac history, cerebral shunts, tracheostomies and any atypical disease or disorder.

This service is available to any child under the age of 18 that resides inside our Ambulance coverage area free of charge. One of our Paramedics or EMTs will schedule a visit to your home to meet with the patient and their guardian(s) and collect pertinent health information. Follow up letters will be sent every 6 months to the patient and their guardian(s) to see if there are any changes that need to be made to the information that we have in our database.

If you have any questions about this program or would like to have someone contact you with additional information about this program, please give our STARS Coordinator a call at
(573) 690-5688.
